FY2018 – $308,735

Funding Impact

  • The objectives for clinical simulations are to improve the safety, effectiveness and efficiency of our care teams when treating patients.
  • Simulations are reliable, reproducible activities that are done in a safe learning environment that prepares staff for real life situations.
  • The simulation education events we practice are considered low frequency, high risk situations.
  • Regular simulation training offered throughout the year includes:
  • Obstetric hemorrhage
  • Obstetric hypertension
  • Obstetric should dystocia
  • Code blue – patient is experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency. Usually, this means cardiac arrest (when the heart stops) or respiratory arrest (when breathing stops).
  • Stroke

Patient Care Impact

  • Simulations support the improvement of team performance of our providers, nurses and clinical teams, leading to positive outcomes to patients.
