*Idaho Power has challenged the State Tax Commission’s valuation method for their operating property. This appeal went through the State Board of Equalization, Idaho District Court, and the Idaho Supreme Court. The Idaho Supreme Court has decided that Idaho Power’s operating property was overvalued and to remedy the situation they are due a refund of the tax dollars that were over paid.
The amount that needs to be refunded or credited from MMHD is $3,205.15. This amount is the tax refund for the years 2020, 2021, and 2022, plus interest.
Valley County provided three options to refund the above amount. As of January 21, 2025 the MMHD board has not chosen which option to implement.
