McCall Hospital District
McCall City Hospital opened in 1956, bringing local healthcare to the community for the first time. Funded through a Hill Burton Foundation grant and community fundraising, it replaced long trips to Cascade or Council for medical care. Over time, it evolved from a city to a district hospital and joined St. Luke’s Health System in 2010. Major facility upgrades were funded by bonds, grants, and donations. Today, the McCall Memorial Hospital District remains a separate legal entity with an elected board, representing local interests and maintaining taxing authority, while St. Luke’s manages operations through a Healthcare Services Agreement.
